There is discussion of all the different medical problems that can occur due to morbid obesity. One example is pseudotumor cerebri. This causes too much spinal fluid to be produced which damages the eyes.

"When the surgery is performed by a highly experienced surgeon most patients do extremely well and complications become the exception, not the rule. There are risks to WLS. However, the benefits far outweigh the risks. It is 400 percent safer to have WLS than it is to remain morbidly obese."
