The claim is that restaurants play a role in making people obese just as the tobacco industry had a role in causing smokers to have lung cancer. After having gastric bypass surgery several years ago she managed to bring her own weight down to 165 pounds. She is now advocating personal responsibility and seeking to pass a law banning lawsuits against the food industry for obesity.
