Patrick Deuel successfully lost over half of his body weight following gastric bypass surgery. That is no small accomplishment for a man who once weighed over 1,000 pounds. Now that Patrick Deuel has left the hospital and headed home his wife is now considering gastric bypass surgery. His wife now weighs 270 pounds. Deuel himself is only targetting himself to drop down to 240 -- he last weighed that in 6th grade.

"Deuel's gastric bypass surgery has been so successful that his wife, Edie Deuel, plans to have it done later this year, he said. She weighs about 270 pounds now, Deuel said, saying that she feels heavier as he continues to lose weight. "
