Mini Gastric Bypass

Mini Gastric Bypass surgery is a laparoscopic bariatric surgery. One advantage mini gastric bypass has over traditional gastric bypass surgery is that it is reversable. Other gastric bypass surgeries are permanant.

Mini gastric bypass is a quick procedure with a relatively short hospital visit. Mini gastric bypass hospital stays should be right around 24 hours where as other procedures may require up to a week. One of the largest factors effecting the hospital stay is complications following the surgery. Studies very, however it appears the risk of complication is somewhere between 1%-5%.

As with all forms of gastric bypass, mini gastric bypass (also referred to as MGB) is a risky procedure. This surgery is for individuals who are morbidly obese. Morbid obesity leads to health problems such as diabetes, heart attack, and cancer.
